Kanban Lens is a local-first app. Your workspace, board, task, focus, review, and attachment data stays on your device by default and is not sent to our servers.
Data We Collect
- No account data is collected.
- No analytics or tracking data is collected by default.
- If you enable Anonymous Product Analytics in Settings, Kanban Lens sends limited product usage events to PostHog using a random app-generated analytics ID.
- Anonymous analytics events use coarse event properties only. Purchase events may include product type, displayed price amount, and currency so we can understand paywall conversion and initial purchase mix.
- Analytics events do not include task titles, descriptions, comments, board names, object IDs, file contents, search text, URLs, email addresses, IP addresses, or precise location.
Data Storage
- Workspace, board, task, focus, review, comment, and attachment data is stored locally on your device.
- If you enable iCloud sync with Pro, synced app data and attachment files are stored in your private iCloud container.
- Due date notifications are scheduled on device and may display task titles in local notification content.
- Exports are generated locally on device when you choose to export.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. External services are limited to Apple services for app distribution, purchases, iCloud sync, notifications, and Calendar features you enable; RevenueCat for purchase validation; Crisp for in-app support chat and support reply notifications; and PostHog only if you enable Anonymous Product Analytics.
If you enable Calendar integration, Kanban Lens may read event timing to detect scheduling conflicts and may create, update, or delete Kanban Lens focus and timebox events in your calendar. If support reply notifications are available, a push notification device token may be provided to Crisp for support chat notifications.
Your Choices
- Export supported task data or delete app data, including stored attachment records and files, in Settings.
- You can keep the app in local-only mode without iCloud sync.
- Anonymous Product Analytics is off by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings. Turning it off opts out of PostHog collection and resets the anonymous analytics ID used for future events.
