Get advice before stopping suddenly
If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, stopping or cutting down suddenly can cause dangerous withdrawal. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional before making an abrupt change, particularly if you have had withdrawal symptoms before.
Do not use a counter, self-check, breathing exercise or educational timeline to decide whether you need care. NHS alcohol support guidance explains why withdrawal may need medical help.
When to seek urgent help
Severe shaking, confusion, hallucinations or seizures can be serious withdrawal symptoms. Seek urgent medical help. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services. LastGlass, its timers and product support do not monitor your condition or alert medical services.
What the app can help with
A daily check-in, a private record, grounding, a short pause, a trusted-contact shortcut and signposts to professional support may help you organise your next step. They do not replace assessment or treatment. Sources describe general patterns; your own experience may differ. Never use LastGlass to decide whether it is safe to drive.
